Outdoor Active Sports provide safe outdoor activities
Who we are and what we do
We are the friendliest outdoor activities provider in Wales.
We want to educate local residents and visitors to the area about the diverse and special environment found around the Anglesey coastline and Snowdonia National park. We want to use our skills and experience to help people develop physically, mentally and socially. After enjoying one of our products the client will leave feeling empowered, confident, and tired!
Our outdoor activities products must represent value for money. However, at the same time they have to be appropriately priced to pay our staff the wages they deserve and with enough left to develop the business. Specifically, developing the business means investing in the continued training of all our staff, increasing and renewing the equipment to maintain the high safety and customer service standards we strive for. The business must also promote sustainable use of our environment through role model behaviour and educational products. Getting this balance right should produce a working environment where the staff are optimally trained, happy, and have all the equipment they need to do the job well. This combination, I believe, is the formula to delivering the best outdoor activity courses possible.
The company was first founded in 2007 by David Smith. It was known as “Dare 2b Challenged”. After two years of trading David decided to re-brand the business into a more focused enterprise. The focus of Outdoor Active is to help people explore, get fit, and learn through outdoor activities. This is done by delivering high quality courses and activity sessions. At Outdoor Active we are an institutional member of the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) and fully licensed to offer outdoor activities to under 18′s by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service (AALS), which is controlled by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). Further to this we are a Duke of Edinburgh Approved Activity Provider.
A little about Dave Smith; the company founder and owner
I’m a determined individual who likes a challenge and prides himself on being competent, friendly and professional. My particular passion in outdoor pursuits is mountain based activities. Including, climbing, walking, and scrambling. I am confident partaking in or leading others within all these areas. Lately, I seem to be spending an increasing amount of my time competing in triathlons. However, I also love Scuba diving and can often be found bobbing around the coastal waters off Anglesey on a sunny evening. So now you know a little about me, I hope to see you soon on one of the many outdoor activities courses offered by Outdoor Active Sports
